Summer Ride Guidelines
The Anchorage Snowmobile Club rules prioritize safety and responsible riding and respecting property wildlife and other trail users. Lets all make the Summer Riding Program safe and successful.

Safety First!
1. No Riding Under the Influence: Never operate an off-road vehicle under the influence of alcohol
or drugs.
2. Safe Speed: Ride at a safe speed, considering trail conditions and surroundings.
3. Supervision: Riders under 16 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
4. Buddy System: Ride with a buddy, and designate meeting areas in case of separation.
5. Check your ATV: Before heading out, ensure your ATV is in good working condition, including
brakes, tires, and controls.
6. Know your ATV: Familiarize yourself with your ATV's features, controls, and maintenance
requirements.
Trail Etiquette and Responsibility:
1. Respect Property: Respect private property and wildlife and other trail users.
2. No Littering: Dispose of trash properly and avoid polluting streams or lakes.
3. Be Courteous: Slow down and use caution when encountering other trail users.
4. Follow Signs: Comply with all signs and respect barriers.
5. Cross Streams Carefully: Cross streams only at designated fording points.
Drivers License & Registration Requirements
A valid Alaska Class D driver’s license is required to operate an ATV or snowmachine on public roads, highways, or rights-of-ways where allowed.
A driver’s license is not required for riding on private property, designated trails, or off-road areas.
ATVs do not require registration or insurance when operated off-road or on private property.
If operated on public roads, ATVs must be registered with the DMV and have liability insurance.
Standard Equipment Requirements
You must yield to all pedestrian, rail, and vehicle traffic. Reckless Riding will NOT be tolerated.

Careless, reckless, or negligent operation will result in exclusion from future club rides.
Riders should not sign up for a ride where the difficulty levels exceed that of your riding ability.
